FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(EUREKA SPRINGS, AR) – A seasonal area musical tradition continues this year when the Ozarks Chorale presents their annual Old Fashioned Holiday Concert at the Eureka Springs Auditorium on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 7:30 p.m. concluding their 14th year as the premier area chorale.

Members are of all ages and from several area communities. The chorale has developed a loyal following of avid supporters due to the high quality with which they present a wide variety of music.

Under the direction of Dr. C. Myron Flippin, the chorale will perform old seasonal favorites and several selections from Handel’s Messiah, accompanied by an instrumental ensemble of area musicians. Beverly Beard will be at the concert grand piano to accompany the chorale.

Chorale board president, Carol Klarr, announced recently that Dr. Flippin has been invited to Carnegie Hall to conduct a performance of Mozart’s Coronation Mass on June 6, 2010. The New England Chamber Orchestra and a chorus of 150-170 voices from across the country will perform the mass. Members of the Ozarks Chorale have also been invited and will fly to New York to participate in the Carnegie Hall performance.

Klarr credits the 14-year success of the Ozarks Chorale to excellent leadership by Dr. Flippin and previous directors, Jim Swiggart, Del Wilmoth and Ruth Johns. “Our success is also due to outstanding accompanists such as Beverly Beard, Dianna Brown, and Carroll Heath, and singers dedicated achieving excellence,” Klarr said. She added that the chorale would not be possible without the financial support of local businesses and individuals who continue to support this non-profit organization year after year.

More information about The Ozarks Chorale is available online at www.theozarkschorale.org or by calling Klarr at 479-981-1191.
